Work with your team

Once people are in your workspace, you review content by commenting on it. Comments sit on a post or on a media library item, and everyone in the workspace can read them. Inviting people is covered in managing team members.

Commenting requires a paid plan.

Comment on a post

1. Open a saved post.
2. Select the speech bubble in the top right of the post builder.
3. Type your comment in the panel that opens, then send it.

The speech bubble only appears once a post has been saved. A post you are still composing has nothing to attach a comment to, so create it first and reopen it.

Comments are attached to the post itself, so they stay put when you add or remove channels from that post.

Comment on a media library item

1. Open Media Library and select an item.
2. Select the speech bubble in the item's toolbar.
3. Type your comment in the panel that opens, then send it.

Mention someone

Type @ in the comment box and Planoly offers the people in the current workspace. Pick one and their name is inserted into the comment. You can mention several people in one comment.

Only the people you mention are notified. A comment with no mentions is added to the thread quietly, so tag the person whose eyes you need on it.

What a mention sends

A mention sends an email and a push notification to that person. Both are controlled by their Collaboration notification setting, so someone who has turned Collaboration off will not hear about it. See managing your notifications.

Edit, delete, and link to a comment

Hover a comment and open its ⋯ menu. On your own comments it offers Edit, Copy Link, and Delete. On someone else's it offers Copy Link only. Opening a copied link takes the reader to the post or media item with the thread open and that comment highlighted.

An edited comment is marked (edited). A deleted one is replaced in the thread by a line naming the author and saying they deleted this comment, so the conversation still reads in order.

A comment can be up to 1,000 characters.

In the mobile app

The app has the same threads. Open a saved post and tap the speech bubble in the header, or open a media item and tap its comment icon. Mentions, editing, deleting, and copying a link all work the same way.
