Account and workspace

Delete your account

Delete your Planoly account on the web or in the app, what gets removed with it, and why an active subscription blocks it.

Updated

On this page

Deleting your Planoly account also deletes every workspace you own, for everyone in it. Cancel any subscription before you start.

Cancel your subscription first

Planoly blocks deletion while a subscription is still set to renew. If you try, the confirmation step is replaced by a message telling you to cancel first.

If you subscribed through the App Store, cancel there before you delete. Planoly checks with Apple first, but when Apple cannot be reached it lets the deletion through anyway — and once the account is gone you cannot cancel from Planoly, while Apple keeps charging.

  • A subscription bought on the web offers Manage subscription, which takes you to the billing page.
  • A subscription bought in the iOS app tells you to cancel it in your device's subscription settings. Planoly cannot cancel an App Store subscription for you, and App Store billing continues until you do.

A subscription you have already cancelled does not block deletion, even if the paid period has not run out yet. See cancelling your subscription.

What deleting removes

  • Every workspace you own, for everyone in it. Their posts, scheduled and drafted, and their connected channels go with the workspace. Scheduled posts in those workspaces stop; nothing further publishes.
  • Your membership of workspaces owned by other people. You lose access to them. Posts you created there stay, and they keep publishing on their schedule.
  • Every signed-in session. You are signed out on every device at once.

After that, signing in with the same email is rejected with "This account has been deleted."

Anything already published to Instagram, TikTok, or any other network stays there. Deleting your Planoly account does not reach into your social accounts.

Delete your account on the web

  1. Open Account > Settings.
  2. Scroll to Delete account and select here in that section.
  3. Choose at least one reason for leaving, then select Continue.
  4. Read the list of workspaces that will be deleted, type DELETE in the box, then select Delete account.

The second step names each workspace you own and how many people are in it, so you can see who else loses access before you confirm.

Delete your account in the mobile app

  1. Open the Profile tab.
  2. Tap your name at the top to open Edit profile.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Choose a reason, then type DELETE to confirm.

Smaller options

If you want to reduce what Planoly holds without closing the account:

  • Unlink a channel. Open the menu on its avatar at the top of the planner and select Unlink Account. Scheduled posts on that channel convert to reminders. See channel states.
  • Delete one workspace. Open Account > Manage workspaces, select Settings on the workspace, then Delete Workspace at the bottom of the panel. Only the owner sees that button.

Creator Store is separate

A Creator Store account is deleted on its own. See deleting your Creator Store account.
