Use stock media

Stock media is a library of photos and videos from Dupe, searchable from inside Planoly. Anything you pick becomes a draft or a media library entry without a download-and-re-upload round trip.

Before you start

Stock media needs a paid plan. Access is read from the workspace owner's subscription, so if you are not the owner, the owner has to upgrade. A trial counts as paid.

The first time you open it, an opt-in appears: Opt-in to our stock media library provided by Dupe. It covers Dupe's content terms and Planoly's Terms of Use. Select I accept. The answer is stored in that browser, so a different browser or a new device asks again.

Where to find it

• Discover. Select Discover in the left sidebar and stay on the Stock Media tab. This is the full browsing view.
• The post builder. Add media and pick Stock Media as the source.
• The upload dialog and Bulk Create, listed beside Dropbox, Google Drive, and Canva.
• The mobile app. Add media, then Stock media.

Search and browse

The search field on the Discover tab reads Search by vibe; in the picker inside the post builder it reads Search photos and videos. Both search the same catalogue.

The dropdown beside the field filters to All, Photo, or Video.

Below the field is a row of category chips. These are Dupe's popular aesthetics, so the list changes over time. Selecting one clears your search and resets the filter to All.

Results load as you scroll. On the Discover tab a badge in the top left corner marks the videos.

Create drafts from Discover

1. Select the items you want. A strip appears at the top with your thumbnails and a running count. Planoly copies each file into your workspace as you select it, so the strip shows N of N ready until they land.
2. Leave Credit original creator on to add Media by @handle to the caption, or turn it off to start with an empty caption.
3. Select Create N drafts.
4. Pick the channels, then select Create drafts.

You can hold up to nine items in one selection.

Send one item to your media library

Each card has a library icon in its top right. Selecting it copies that file into your workspace and files it under Library media by @handle, without creating a post. From the media library you can move it into a folder or turn it into a draft later.

In the post builder

Selecting Stock Media in the post builder opens a picker. Tick the items you want and select Add N items. The picker caps you at the number of media slots the post has left, so a nearly full carousel offers fewer.

On mobile

Stock media is a source in the Add media sheet, in the post builder, the media library, and cover photo selection. Photos and videos are both available. Bulk create is web only. Select up to 20 at a time; the app downloads them, then uploads them like any other file.
