Schedule reminders and post manually

Schedule a reminder in Planoly and publish the post yourself from the mobile app when it is due.

On this page

A reminder holds your post in Planoly and tells you when to publish it. Use it for channels Planoly cannot auto-post to, and any time you want the last word before something goes live.

Schedule a reminder

  1. Open Calendar and select Create Post.
  2. Select Click to add your channels and pick the channels for this post.
  3. Add your media and write your caption.
  4. On each channel's tab, set Posting method to Reminder.
  5. Select Pick a time and choose a date and time at least 10 minutes in the future.
  6. Select Schedule post.

On the web

In the mobile app

Posting method sits below the caption on both surfaces. On the web it reads Posting method with Reminder and Auto-post side by side; in the app it reads POSTING METHOD with the same two choices.

What happens at the scheduled time

Planoly sends a push notification and an email to every active member of the workspace. Open the notification to go straight to the post.

Publish from the mobile app

The reminder opens the Time to post screen, which groups the post's channels into PUBLISHING, READY TO POST, SCHEDULED, and POSTED.

  1. Open the channel you want to publish to.
  2. Select Copy & open. Planoly saves the media to your device, copies the caption to your clipboard, and opens the social app.
  3. Start a new post in that app and pick the media Planoly saved. It is the most recent item in your camera roll.
  4. Paste the caption.
  5. Publish the post.
  6. Return to Planoly. When it asks Did you post to [channel]?, select Yes, mark as posted.

If you dismissed the notification

In the Planoly app, open the post's menu from the calendar or post list and select Publish manually. That opens the same Time to post screen. You can also reopen the social app from the confirmation sheet with Open [channel].

Turning reminders off

Reminders are controlled in Settings, under Post Reminders. Each notification category has its own email and push toggle. Turning push off on your device also stops reminders reaching that device.

Post Reminders has its own PUSH and EMAIL toggles, separate from the Post Publishing category above it.
