Getting started
Refresh a channel connection
Re-authorize a social channel when its connection breaks, its access token expires, or your Instagram grid stops syncing.
Updated
On this page
Planoly publishes on your behalf using an access token each platform issues when you link the channel. Tokens expire. Refreshing the connection issues a new one.
When to refresh
- The channel shows a broken or disconnected warning.
- Recent posts are missing from your Instagram grid.
- Your grid is not showing up-to-date content.
- A post failed with a connection error.
Why tokens expire
- You changed your password or username on the platform.
- The token reached the end of its lifespan.
- Permissions were revoked, or the connected profile lost admin access to its Page.
- The platform changed its API.
Refresh the connection
- Sign in to Planoly in a desktop browser.
- Select the channel's bubble in the top bar, or open the account menu at the bottom of the left sidebar, select Manage workspaces, and select the bubble in the workspace's Channels column.
- Choose Refresh Channel Connection.
- Sign in to the platform again and approve the permissions.
If refreshing does not fix it, choose Unlink Account, then Link Account again. That runs the full sign-in flow from the start.
Refresh your Instagram grid
Refreshing the channel connection re-authorizes Planoly. Pulling in new posts is a separate action.
- Switch the left panel to Instagram grid view.
- Scroll to the footer below the grid.
- Select Refresh.
The footer shows how many posts are loaded and when it last updated.
A note on collab posts
If you were tagged as a collaborator but did not create the post, it will not appear on your grid, even after a refresh. Only posts you created sync to Planoly.
