Plan your Instagram grid

The Instagram grid view shows your upcoming Instagram content in the layout your profile will have, with your already-published posts below it.

Open the grid

Above the post list are three views. Select the Instagram icon, Instagram grid view. The other two are List view and Gallery view.

Inside the grid, switch between Grid, Reels, and Stories.

The grid needs an Instagram channel linked to this workspace. A reminder-only Instagram channel shows your planned posts but no published ones.

How the grid is ordered

The grid has two parts.

• Undated drafts sit in the part you arrange by hand.
• Dated drafts and scheduled posts sit in a fixed chronological section, ordered by their schedule date.

Below both are your published Instagram posts, pulled from Instagram itself.

Rearrange posts

Press and hold an undated draft or placeholder, then drag it to a new slot. Planoly saves the new order.

Dated drafts and scheduled posts cannot be dragged. Their position comes from their schedule date, so to move one, change its date.

To exchange two posts' slots, select exactly two undated drafts and choose Swap in the selection bar.

Published posts cannot be rearranged.

Change a post's date

1. Hover the post and open its menu at the bottom of the card.
2. Select Change Date.
3. Pick a date and time in Select Date & Time, then select Save.

If the post covers more than one channel, Save for all? asks what to apply the new date to. Choose Save On All for every channel in the post, or Save [channel] Only for that one channel.

Edit, copy, or delete

The same card menu holds:

• Edit Post — open the post in the builder.
• Change Date — set or move the schedule.
• Create a Copy — duplicate the post as a new draft.
• Delete — remove the post from Planoly.

You can also add the post to a campaign from this menu.

Deleting

You can delete drafts, placeholders, and scheduled posts from the grid. Delete post? asks you to confirm. Select Delete post.

Deleting a post in Planoly does not remove anything already published on Instagram.
