Getting started

Find your way around Social Planner

Find your way around Social Planner: the sidebar, the three post views, the calendar, and your first scheduled post.

On this page

Social Planner is where you plan, schedule, and publish across every channel you have linked. Your existing channels, posts, and scheduled content are already there.

  1. Go to planoly.com and sign in with your Planoly email and password.
  2. You land on Calendar, the main planning view.

The layout

Your posts on the left, the calendar on the right. Month, Week and Day in the calendar's toolbar change how much of it you see at once.

The left sidebar is your primary navigation:

  • Calendar
  • Media Library
  • Discover
  • Keywords & Captions
  • Analytics
  • Ambassador Program
  • Creator Store

Your account menu sits at the bottom of the sidebar. It holds Manage workspaces, Billing, Settings, and log out.

The menu opens from your avatar at the foot of the sidebar. Manage workspaces opens the page where you add, rename and remove workspaces, Billing opens your plan, and Settings opens everything else about your account.

The Calendar page splits in two. The left panel lists your posts, and the calendar fills the right. Switch the calendar between Month, Week, and Day from the toolbar above it.

The left panel has three views, chosen from the toggle at the top:

  • Instagram grid view — a preview of your Instagram grid, with Grid, Reels, and Stories tabs.
  • List view — every post in a chronological list.
  • Gallery view — every post as thumbnails.

Switch workspaces

Your active workspace's name sits in the top left. Select it to switch between workspaces if you manage more than one brand. The channels linked to that workspace appear as icons in the top right.

The chevron after the workspace name opens the switcher. The two marks before the channel avatars set up the Planoly MCP for Claude and for ChatGPT.

Create your first post

  1. Select Create Post at the top of the left panel.
  2. Add your channels, then upload your image or video. You can drag files straight onto the panel.
  3. Write your caption. You can also add emoji, tag users with @mentions, add a Creator Store product link, or use AI Caption Writer for suggestions.
  4. Under Posting method, choose Auto-post or Reminder for each channel.
  5. Pick a date and time, then schedule the post.
This row sits under the caption box, and it belongs to the channel tab you are on. Setting it on one tab leaves the other channels alone.

Explore the rest

  • Discover — stock media, hashtags, users, and content templates.
  • Keywords & Captions — your saved hashtag groups and caption templates.
  • Share report — the share icon in the left panel's action row creates a read-only plan report link you can send to anyone. The link expires after 14 days.
  • Refresh — the button in the footer of the Instagram grid pulls your latest live Instagram posts.
  • Analytics — Instagram and Pinterest performance. Instagram analytics needs an Instagram account linked to a Facebook Business page, and a paid plan or an active free trial.
