Edit photos and videos

Planner has a built-in editor for the media on a post. Images open in a design editor; videos open in a video editor with a timeline.

Before you start

The media editor requires a paid plan; a free trial counts. If you are not the workspace owner, the owner has to upgrade.

Edit media on the web

1. Open a post that already has media, or add media to a new one.
2. Hover the media tile and select Media options.
3. Select Edit image or Edit video.
4. Make your changes with the tools in the editor.
5. Select Save Edits.
6. Confirm in the Save changes dialog by selecting Save edits, or go back with Keep editing.

To leave without keeping anything, select Cancel, then Discard.

Fix an aspect-ratio warning

When media does not fit a channel's allowed aspect ratio, the post builder shows a banner with a crop action. Selecting it opens the same editor with crop presets for that channel and post type, such as Square, Portrait, Landscape, or Vertical.

Edit media in the mobile app

1. Open a post and tap the media you want to change.
2. Tap Edit in the actions sheet.
3. Make your changes, then save.

Both photo and video editing are available on iOS and Android.

After editing

Finish the post as usual: caption, hashtags, and channel options. Then select Save as draft or Schedule post.
