What’s your favorite way to celebrate Valentine’s Day?
My Valentine’s Days now as a mom of three are very different than they were seven years ago before I had kids! Now, I’m lucky if my husband and I can sneak away for a rushed dinner at a nearby restaurant. Before kids, I loved celebrating at a slower pace. I liked making a meal together at home and watching a movie in bed. Very low key!
Your modern party goods are so gorgeous! Which collection would you suggest for a V-Day or Galentine’s get-together?
Aww, thanks! Our Erika Collection is a great one for a Galentine’s get-together. The bold graphics and abstract strokes were designed for today’s modern multi-faceted woman. Galentine’s events are all about celebrating this type of dynamic girlfriend!
What are your top styling tips for decorating an Insta-worthy Valentine’s Day table setting?
I love well-edited tables. Less is more! Some pretty blush colored taper candles flickering in different heights. Rose gold flatware. Love notes. And of course our Harlow & Grey plates and napkins to finish off the table! Our Manhattan Collection which features dark green with pale pink would be the perfect color palette for a romantic dinner.
What’s your favorite way to style a Galentine’s Party? What games or activities would you suggest?
A spa theme is always appreciated for any girls’ get-together. What girl doesn’t like to be pampered, right? A fun way to style a Galentine’s party is to incorporate spa products directly on the dining table. Bottles of nail polish look awesome next to place cards and also make great take-home goodies for guests. When my girlfriends and I get together, we love to put on face masks, nibble on some chocolate, sip on some bubbly, relax, and enjoy each other’s company.
What are the best time-saving decorating tips?
For a more casual, fun, upbeat get-together, I would just grab a mass of balloons and call it a day. For a more formal gathering, I would stick with flowers. You can’t go wrong with pretty blooms!
What are the new decor trends this year?
We will never tire of metallics here at Harlow & Grey. We love the thought of mixing metals for parties. We see gold, silver, rose gold all displayed together for a sparkly shiny event.
What’s the most important element of decor?
Upon entering a room, I think anything above eye level makes the most impact. A huge floral chandelier. Hanging garlands. However, on a table itself, when everyone is seated, I think pretty tableware is important!
