Your Facebook Page is the channel that always slips to the bottom of the list. Connecting Claude to Facebook lets you hand it a finished post in the same chat where you're already working, and Planoly puts it on your Page at the time you pick. The setup has one rule that trips people up: Claude posts to Facebook Pages, not personal profiles or groups. (For everything else the connector can do, see [**our full guide to MCP**](https://www.planoly.com/ai?utm_source=planoly_blog\&utm_medium=blog_cta\&utm_campaign=how-to-connect-claude-to-facebook\&utm_content=mcp_hub_intro).)

## Can Claude Post to a Facebook Profile or Group?

No. Planoly publishes to Facebook Pages only, so personal profiles and groups aren't offered, and that carries through to Claude. If you run your business from a personal profile today, create a Facebook Page first. Each Planoly workspace holds one Facebook Page, so a second business Page belongs in its own workspace.

*Why it works:* Knowing this up front saves you a sign-in loop looking for a profile option that was never there.

## What Do You Need Before You Start?

- **A Facebook Page you manage.** If it lives in a Meta Business Portfolio, your own Facebook account needs access to the Page there.
- **A Planoly account.** The free plan covers connecting channels and scheduling: one workspace and 10 posts per month per workspace.
- **A paid Claude plan.** You need one to add the Planoly connector.

## How Do You Connect Claude to Facebook?

**1. Link your Facebook Page to Planoly.** In Planoly, open Calendar and select the Facebook avatar in the channel row at the top right. Choose Link Account, sign in to Facebook and accept the permissions. On the Select a Facebook page screen, pick your Page and select Connect. On mobile, open the Facebook channel's actions and tap Link account.

*Why it works:* Facebook starts in every workspace as a reminder-only channel. Linking the Page is what turns on auto-posting, and Claude can only work with channels you've already linked in Planoly. It can't link or unlink them for you.

**2. Make sure your Page stays selected in Meta's permission screen.** Meta asks which Pages to share with Planoly. Make sure the Page you want to post to is selected, and approve the permissions Planoly requests for it.

*Why it works:* Planoly can only list a Page that Meta hands back with posting access. Deselect it here and it quietly disappears from the picker.

**3. Connect Planoly to Claude.** If you're already in Claude, open [**Planoly in the Claude connector directory**](https://claude.ai/directory/planoly?utm_source=planoly_blog\&utm_medium=blog_cta\&utm_campaign=how-to-connect-claude-to-facebook\&utm_content=directory_cta), select Connect, and sign in with your Planoly account. Prefer to start from Planoly? Select the Claude avatar in the top bar next to your channel icons and follow the setup dialog. Or, from inside Claude, open Settings > Connectors and search "Planoly".

*Why it works:* You sign in with OAuth, so Claude never sees a password, and the same connection works in Claude chat and Cowork.

**4. Paste the verification prompt.** Open a new chat and paste:

*"Using Planoly, list my workspaces and their channels. Tell me which Facebook Page is connected, whether it can auto-publish, and whether anything needs reconnecting."*

*Why it works:* Planoly reports each channel's connection state and posting mode, so you'll know it's live before a real post depends on it.

**5. Send a text-only test post.** Facebook lets a Page Post go out with no media at all, which makes it the easiest test you can run. Claude can create and schedule a text-only Page Post through the connector, so ask it to schedule a short Page Post you've written for at least 10 minutes from now. Claude will ask before it creates the post.

*Why it works:* No image means no media upload to troubleshoot, so if the test fails, you know the problem is the connection.

> **Pro tip**
>
> The Planoly connector schedules posts you've written and approved. It doesn't write your captions for you. Paste in your own copy, or draft it with Claude first and approve it before anything is scheduled.

## What Can Claude Schedule to Your Facebook Page?

- **Page Post:** text alone, one image, one video, or a carousel of up to 10 images, with a caption up to 10,000 characters.
- **Reel:** one video and a caption up to 1,500 characters.
- **Story:** one image or one video, with no caption.

Three Facebook quirks worth knowing before you ask: carousels are images only, so post a video on its own. There's no link field, so put your URL in the caption. And there's no first comment, location or collaborator option on Facebook posts. One more difference from Instagram: Planoly doesn't show Facebook analytics, so Claude can schedule to your Page but can't report how those posts performed.

## Why Isn't Claude Finding My Facebook Page?

- **Your Claude and Planoly logins don't match.** We hear this one on setup calls more than any other. The connector belongs to the Planoly user you signed in as. If that isn't the account that owns the workspace with your Page, Claude finds nothing. Disconnect the connector in Claude, sign in again through your browser with the right Planoly account, and rerun the verification prompt.
- **"No Facebook Pages found for this account."** Either your Page wasn't selected in Meta's permission screen (see step 2), or the Page sits in a Business Portfolio your account can't post from. Grant yourself access to the Page in the Business Portfolio, then select Try Again.
- **"Meta blocked this connection" over a privacy setting.** In Facebook on a computer, open Settings, go to Activity from other businesses, and allow future activity from businesses and apps. Then link again.
- **Scheduled posts turned into reminders.** The Page was unlinked or Facebook revoked access. Select the Facebook avatar in Planoly and choose Refresh Channel Connection. Page connections don't expire on a timer, so this usually means permissions were removed in your Facebook settings.
- **An older guide mentioned developer mode or a custom URL.** You can skip that for Claude. Planoly is in Claude's connector directory now.

## What You Can Do Next

Once your test post lands, try putting the same post on Facebook and Instagram with a different caption for each, and ask Claude to stagger the times. Our guide to [connecting Claude to Instagram](https://www.planoly.com/blog/how-to-connect-claude-to-instagram) covers the Instagram side, including the Business or Creator account you'll need for analytics. ## Frequently Asked Questions

**Can I connect two Facebook Pages?**

Not to one workspace. Each workspace holds one Facebook Page. To switch Pages, use Refresh Channel Connection on the Facebook avatar.

**Do I have to reconnect Facebook every few months?**

No. Facebook Page connections don't expire on a schedule. They stay linked until Facebook revokes access.

**Can Claude read my Facebook analytics?**

No. Planoly doesn't have Facebook analytics yet. Its analytics cover Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok and LinkedIn.

**Does linking my Facebook Page also connect Instagram?**

No. Linking a Page for Facebook posting is separate from linking Instagram through Facebook, which is what unlocks Instagram tagging and analytics.

**Will Claude publish without asking me?**

Tools that create, change or delete posts are flagged so Claude asks you before running them.
